Our History
Green Meadows Community Residence for
Seniors Inc. is located on HWY 245 in
North Grant. We are approximately 8km
from the Town of Antigonish. Green
Meadows consists of 40 acres of
beautiful countryside with grounds that
provide a secure and quiet setting for
our residents. On the property you will
find horses, a riding ring, sheep
grazing the pastures, and a neighbouring
dairy farm.
In 1999
Lee and Donnie identified a need for
long term care for seniors in our
Community, not just an institute, but a real
home for seniors. It was then the Main
house of Green Meadows was established.
In the beginning Donnie, Lee and their
children lived on premises with 4
seniors residing on the west side of the
home.
In 2006,
based on the success of Green Meadows
and the increasing demand for more beds
Green Meadows launched our Southside
Residence of Green Meadows. This house
can accommodate 5 seniors.
Then in
2008, with continued demand Green
Meadows expanded the Main House of Green Meadows to 9
private rooms. At this time Lee, Donnie,
and their 5 children moved into their
own house, on the same property of Green
Meadows.
Green
Meadow is proud to have been in business for
10 years.

Testimonials
“You
will never know the peace of mind we had
because we knew that mom was with people
who cared about her and treated her as
‘family’. In fact, you were part of her
– and our – family. Even in death, you
gave her such respect and dignity. We
will never forget.”

Joanne Hill and John and Judy Briand
(Antigonish, N.S.)
“Words cannot express the
deep gratitude we feel you enabled Fr.
Allan’s last years to be ones of
dignity. May God continue to bless you
and your wonderful family. Thank you for
being there right to the end.”
Don and
Carmel (Cape Breton, NS)
“We want to thank you
from the bottom of our hearts for the
wonderful loving care our mom received
at your home. As Patsy says, you were an
angel sent to us at that time.”
Gordon
and Dorothy Bryant ( Hammond, NY)
“Lee and Donnie McCarron,
Green Meadows Community Residence for
Seniors, North Grant and all the staff,
past and present. Dad felt he was part
of your family especially when the
children brought the puppies to his room
and drew pictures for him. You know he
was at home watching the cattle, sheep
and horses grazing and haying time. He
loved your flower garden display, home
cooking and especially the sweet
treats.”
Thank you

“ I am happy I had the
chance to meet you all and see first
hand what a wonderful caring way you
have all chosen to live your lives. The
work you all do is truly blessed and I
am grateful my mom was lucky enough to
have spent her last days with such
caring and loving people.”

"What I admire most about
Lee and Donnie's efforts at Green
Meadows is their staffing ability.
Without fail they hire women who are
gentle and caring, and then provide the
staff with a work atmosphere that allows
them to care for the residents in a
warm, positive, and professional manner
while always respecting their dignity."
